Come join us Friday April 5 at Shank hall for a night of bad ass rock n roll featuring 20 Watt Tombstone, Black Belt Theatre, and Carbellion! 20 WATT TOMBSTONE: 20 Watt Tombstone are Wasau Wisconsin’s hard touring heavy rock saviors. They have played hundreds of shows all across the USA and Europe. Fusing the sounds of ZZ Top with Kyuss by way of Robert Johnson and Black Flag, the band has continually outdone themselves since their formation in 2011. Having just released a new album, The Chosen Few, produced by Grammy nominated songwriter Brother Dege they are gearing up to amplify their career to bold new heights. Having built their name on the road, 20 Watt Tombstone are road warriors for a new generation of heavy rockers. Hailing from Milwaukee, WI, they embrace the long, beer fueled winters. And the hot, beer-fueled summers. They live and breathe the DIY rock-and-roll ethos of the mid-west. The common thread that ties the four of them together is their love for late 70’s/early 80’s power rock. Think Cheap Trick, Thin Lizzy, UFO, April Wine, etc. Throw in modern influences like Danko Jones, Eagles of Death Metal and the like, and you have a recipe for a fresh, but somehow familiar sound. The members — Brandon Bauer (guitar), Cameron Kellenberger (vocals), Brent Nimz (drums), Jamie Damrow (lead guitar) and Steve Sheppard (bass guitar) — fuse elements of grunge, thrash and stoner-rock with more traditional structures to deliver driving anthems of lives lived on the outer rim of society. Their sound follows in the tradition of forward-thinking groups like Clutch and Alice In Chains, but with hooks and melodies ready for radio.
